Ever since Twitter and the whole Social Media thing captivated the world at large, it’s been extremely tempting to lose sight of the basics of marketing and jump into all things social. But a word of caution. Although exciting and new, Social Media is not a quick fix, nor the magic cure for what ails every business or brand.

It never ceases to amaze me how little most companies know about their customers. Although aware of the obvious statistics such as gender and age, most pretty much stop there. Not that this information is not important, it just doesn’t provide a complete picture of what makes a customer tick.
